1. Purpose and Scope

This Certification Usage Policy contains the terms and conditions regarding to the management and control of the usage of all certifications, titles, logos, marks, badges, seals, certificates, visual identifiers, and related recognition materials issued or awarded by Singapore Global Record (SGR).

This Policy applies to all certified entities, applicants, nominees, partners, representatives, agencies, designers, printers, marketing personnel, and any third party acting on behalf of a certified entity.

2. Ownership of Intellectual Property

All ownership, rights (including intellectual property rights), title, and interest in and to the Singapore Global Record (SGR) name, logo, emblem, certification mark, seal, badge, certificate design, layout, wording, graphic elements, visual identity, typography, and all related materials shall remain the exclusive property of Singapore Global Record (SGR).

No certification granted by Singapore Global Record (SGR) shall be construed in any way or manner as a transfer, assignment, license of ownership, or permanent right in any intellectual property belonging to Singapore Global Record (SGR), whether in part or entirety.

3. Limited Right of Use

A certified entity may only use the certification and related materials strictly within the scope expressly approved in writing by Singapore Global Record (SGR).

Any right of use granted is limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and subject at all times to:

• the validity period of the certification;
• compliance with this Policy;
• compliance with the Terms & Conditions and Legal Disclaimer of Singapore Global Record (SGR); and
• any additional written instructions issued by Singapore Global Record (SGR).

Notwithstanding the above, Singapore Global Record (SGR) reserves the right to vary the above scopes, conditions, and limitation of the usage at any time.

4. Approved Scope of Certification Use

Any valid certification may only be used in relation to the exact entity, product, service, category, title, or achievement specifically approved by Singapore Global Record (SGR).

Any certification granted shall not be used in a broader, implied, extended, or generalized manner beyond the approved scope.

For the avoidance of doubt, where a certification is granted for a specific product, project, campaign, title, category, or achievement, such certification shall not be deem to expand beyond the specific product, project, campaign, title, category, or achievement, nor shall it be represented as applying to:

• the entire company, entity, or person, unless expressly approved;
• other products or services not assessed;
• future products, future services, or future achievements;
• affiliated entities, subsidiaries, branches, or partners not expressly named.

5. Approved Forms of Use

Subject to written approval and ongoing compliance, a certified entity may use Singapore Global Record (SGR) certification only in the following forms:

• display of the official certification logo or mark provided by Singapore Global Record (SGR);
• display of the official certificate issued by Singapore Global Record (SGR);
• reference to the certification title exactly as approved;
• publicity materials that accurately reproduce the approved certification details;
• website, brochure, corporate presentation, media release, social media, packaging, or display materials, provided such use remains accurate and within scope.

6. Strict Prohibition on Unauthorised Modification

No person or entity may alter, redraw, recreate, restyle, adapt, distort, recompose, or otherwise modify any Singapore Global Record (SGR) certification logo, mark, seal, badge, certificate, or related visual asset.

Without limitation, the following acts are strictly prohibited unless expressly approved in writing by SGR:

• Changing or modifying the shape, ratio, outline, border, proportion, or orientation of the logo or mark in any manner;
• changing the approved colours or applying unauthorised colour variations;
• changing the words, title, text arrangement, wording hierarchy, or typography;
• adding shadows, gradients, glow, 3D effects, bevels, embossing, textures, or animation;
• stretching, compressing, rotating, skewing, cropping, or partially displaying the mark, artwork, logo, or wordings;
• replacing official fonts with other fonts;
• separating any element of the mark from the full approved design;
• redrawing or recreating the mark manually;
• using low-quality, pixelated, blurred, distorted, or unapproved artwork.

7. Colour Standards and Visual Integrity

All certification marks, logos, and badges of Singapore Global Record (SGR) must be reproduced only in the official approved colour versions supplied or designated by Singapore Global Record (SGR).

Where monochrome, grayscale, metallic, embossed, foil, black-and-white, reversed, or special print applications are required, prior written approval must be obtained unless such variant has already been officially issued by Singapore Global Record (SGR).

No party shall independently create alternate colourways or visual interpretations of any Singapore Global Record (SGR) certification mark.

8. Text, Wording, and Title Integrity

All references to Singapore Global Record (SGR) certification must use the exact official wording, title, and category as approved and provided by Singapore Global Record (SGR).

No abbreviation, paraphrase, translation, embellishment, exaggeration, or alternative promotional claim may be used if it changes, expands, or mischaracterises the meaning of the approved certification issued by Singapore Global Record (SGR).

Examples of prohibited conduct include, without limitation:

• changing the certification title into a broader or more prestigious sounding claim;
• representing recognition as “government certified”, “officially guaranteed”, “globally endorsed”, or any wording of similar meaning where not expressly approved;
• omitting material limitations, dates, categories, or scope restrictions as stipulated hereto or as imposed by Singapore Global Record (SGR);
• using superlative or exclusive claims not awarded or recognised by Singapore Global Record (SGR).

9. Use in Chinese, English, and Other Languages

Where Singapore Global Record (SGR) has provided an official English title, Chinese title, bilingual form, or approved translation, only such official wordings and language shall be used.

No certified entity may produce its own translated title, alternative title, or localized claim without prior written approval from Singapore Global Record (SGR).

Where there is any inconsistencies in respect to the language used in the certification, the official wording as designated by Singapore Global Record (SGR) shall prevail over the translated version.

10. Use of Certificate Images and Reproductions

Images or reproductions of certificates issued by Singapore Global Record (SGR) may only be used in its complete, clear, accurate, and unaltered version and by the designated recipient.

Certificates must not be cropped in any manner whatsoever. Without limitation, crops that removes the following elements from the certification:

• validity period;
• certification title;
• category;
• certificate number or identifying information, where applicable;
• official signature elements, if any;
• official Singapore Global Record (SGR) branding elements.

No certificate may be edited, retouched, redesigned, rewritten or re-issued by the certified entity or any other person without SGR’s prior written approval.

11. Digital Use and Social Media Use

The terms as stipulated hereto shall govern the usage of the certification issued by Singapore Global Record (SGR) in digital media, websites, e-commerce pages, mobile applications, online advertising, video, livestream, or social media.

In digital use, the certified entity must ensure that:

• the mark in the certification is legible and not distorted;
• the certification claim is presented accurately and does not offend any applicable laws or regulations, including any rules and policies by Singapore Global Record (SGR);
• the approved entity or product is correctly identified;
• no misleading hashtags, captions, overlays, thumbnails, or headlines are used;
• expired, suspended, or revoked certification is immediately removed.

12. Packaging, Signage, Booths, and Printed Materials

No Singapore Global Record (SGR) logo, certification mark, or claim may be printed on packaging, labels, storefronts, signage, exhibition booths, catalogues, business cards, uniforms, promotional gifts, banners, or other printed materials unless the use is within the approved scope and complies fully with this Policy.

Large-format or permanent applications shall require heightened care and may be subject to prior approval by Singapore Global Record (SGR).

13. No Implied Partnership, Sponsorship, or Endorsement

Use of Singapore Global Record (SGR) certification shall not be regarded, deemed, nor imply that Singapore Global Record (SGR):

• is a shareholder, investor, partner, affiliate, or sponsor of the certified entity;
• has approved all products or services of the certified entity;
• has guaranteed safety, legality, profitability, or regulatory compliance;
• has granted rights beyond the exact approved certification.

14. Validity Period and Expiry

All rights to use a certification are limited to the validity period stated in the certification or otherwise prescribed in writing by SGR. Where no validity period is stated or prescribed, the certification shall be valid for one (1) year from its date of issuance. Without prejudice to Clause 18, SGR may suspend, shorten or terminate the validity period where the certification has been misused or where any other ground stated in this Policy or the Terms and Conditions applies.

15. Renewal and Continued Use

Any continued use of a Singapore Global Record (SGR) certification beyond its approved validity period shall require formal renewal and written confirmation by Singapore Global Record (SGR).

No entity may continue displaying, claiming, advertising, or implying active certification after expiry pending renewal, unless expressly authorized by Singapore Global Record (SGR) in writing.

16. Monitoring, Review, and Verification

Singapore Global Record (SGR) reserves the right at any time to monitor, review, audit, inspect, verify, or request samples of any usage of its certification, logo, mark, wording, certificate, or promotional material.

Certified entities shall promptly cooperate with any such request and shall provide copies, screenshots, mock-ups, files, or samples as required within three (3) days from the date of being requested of the same.

17. Takedown, Correction, and Rectification Rights

Singapore Global Record (SGR) may require immediate removal, correction, replacement, withdrawal, or rectification of any usage of the certification that it considers inaccurate, misleading, unauthorised, non-compliant, reputationally harmful, visually inconsistent, or otherwise objectionable.

The certified entity shall comply within the timeframe specified by Singapore Global Record (SGR), failing which the certified entity shall indemnify Singapore Global Record (SGR) for any damages arising therefrom.

18. Suspension and Revocation

Singapore Global Record (SGR) reserves the absolute right to suspend or revoke any certification and all related usage rights at any time where it determines, in its sole discretion, that:

• the certification has been misused;
• the logo, mark, or wording has been altered or misapplied;
• false, exaggerated, or misleading claims have been made;
• the continued use presents reputational, legal, or regulatory risk;
• the entity has breached this Policy or any other applicable policy of Singapore Global Record (SGR).

19. Consequences of Breach

Where any breach of this Policy occurs, SGR may report the matter to any relevant authority and/or take any of the following actions:

• require immediate cessation of use of the certification;
• require public announcement for correction or clarification;
• withdraw certification;
• deny renewal;
• refuse future applications;
• take legal action or seek injunctive relief;
• claim compensation for any damage caused to the Singapore Global Record (SGR) brand or reputation.

20. No Waiver

No failure on the part of Singapore Global Record (SGR) to exercise, and no delay on its part in exercising, any right or remedy under this Policy shall operate as a waiver thereof, nor shall any single or partial exercise of any right or remedy preclude any further exercise thereof or the exercise of any other right or remedy. The rights and remedies provided under this Policy are cumulative and not exclusive of any other rights or remedies available under the Terms and Conditions, at law or otherwise.

21. Consistency Across Platforms

This Certification Usage Policy applies equally across all forms of communication and representation, including but not limited to:

• Websites and platforms;
• presentations and PPT materials;
• social media;
• advertisements;
• event backdrops;
• printed brochures;
• packaging and labels;
• press releases;
• media interviews;
• certificates and display plaques.

Where any inconsistency arises between any materials, the official written instructions, original design files and approved wording issued or designated by SGR shall prevail.

22. Final Interpretation

Singapore Global Record (SGR) reserves the sole and final right to interpret this Certification Usage Policy and to determine whether any use complies with its standards, brand requirements, and certification rules.
